Blogger’s Choice Awards

My site was nominated for Best Business Blog!

It seems that my buddy Dave has nominated me for a Blogger’s Choice Award, in the business category. I have a total of one vote, which makes me tied for last place, with many others ;-)

As I was checking out the competition (1st place has 157 votes) I wondered which category I should be in anyway. Since I write about the intersection of learning, work and technology, I could also be in the education category. There is no technology category, but there is a “Worst Blog of All Time” category. Thankfully, Dave didn’t recommend me for that one.

  1. I think of your blog discussing business as i would like it to be and as it occasionally is… informed by learning and technology. practical and stripped of alot of nonsense… not that I’d say that to your face :)

  2. in a sense… what category your blog is in is not up to you. In my world you are a ‘business node’. yes, the reason you make sense in that is that you work with learning and technology. To a more business focused person you may be an ‘educational blog’. Just a question of context.

  3. Hmmm. I seem to be the blind man who’s got hold of a different part of the elephant. I value your blog, Harold, for your passion about changing government, schooling and communities with your fascinating insights into learning and being valuable to others.

  4. Looks like you now have 3 votes.

Whether you “win” or not – I’m thrilled that you are not only willing to share your insight, but also willing to support and encourage other bloggers.

That is more important than any weird award that makes it hard to vote (it took me 40 seconds to find the link) and forces me to register to support someone I have mad respect for and can tell them via comments anyway.

  5. Thanks, Wendy. It’s fun to add a lighter post that just gets people talking. Did you vote for me in the elephant category? ;-)

  6. You know what your trouble is Harold? You’re a nice, centred guy in a
    self-centred Bloggerdammerung.
