Boris and Will are two of the founding members of a new site called DrupalED with an aggregated edtech feed.
DrupalED is a distribution that combines core Drupal.org with a selection of modules optimized for use in educational settings. These range from K-12 to university, as well as per-class, per-department, and per-institution scenarios.
It is free, open source, libre, and available for you
.I think that this one is going to grow :)
Update: Please read Will’s comment to this post.
Not quite “available”
Hi Harold — it’s not necessarily "available", this is more like a kick-off of the process. Drupal works quite well today for educational purposes, but there are definitely improvements and extra functionality that could be made. Plus making an actual, targetted distribution specifically for education.
We’d be pleased to have your participation — if you login with your Drupal ID and/or sign up for an account, I’ll happily promote you to a contributor (which today means being able to blog directly on the site…anyone can be active in the forums).
In any case, your participation to the promotion and definition of this project would be much appreciated. Cheers!
